Manifesto of the Happiness Realization Party

Manifesto of the Happiness Realization Party
by Ryuho Okawa

Foreword

It is very important to clearly present our nation’s ideal as a national virtue. In this manifesto, I have identified the problem areas of the current Japanese Constitution, and have offered my thoughts on how to design our nation to the way it should be.

As a result of my reflections, I have come to believe that religious activities alone are insufficient to offer concrete salvation to the people of Japan and to bring them tangible and actual happiness—it is necessary, therefore, to form a political group which is separate from our religious organization.

Our country is in dire straits. At the same time, though, we stand at a crossroads; this is an age in which, by taking the helm of the ship of state, we can open up a new future.

In light of my decision that the methodology for bringing about actual happiness should include activities in the sphere of a political party, such as actual political administration, legislation, foreign diplomacy, economic policy, the defense question and other areas, I have decided to establish a responsible political party to be known as the Happiness Realization Party. It is my heartfelt hope that we might enjoy broad approval from the citizens of all quarters of Japan.
